The Benefits of using Tanning Creams

It seems in many cases regular sun bed users are reluctant to buy tanning creams to use while they using sunbeds. Some see it as a waste of time and money; others see them as gimmick offered by the industry for profit, while the majority of people are just not being educated about the benefits of the various products available.

The facts are that if you do not apply a cream, your skin will remain relatively dry and actually reflect the tanning. So in theory, if your skin remains dry, you may not be receiving the tanning time you have paid for. You could be losing up to 60% of the rays. So you’re paying for 10 mins on a sun bed and actually only potentially getting the benefits of 4 mins.

Tanning creams contain ingredients that can help repair the skin or lessen the damage done to it. Everybody knows the harmful effect UV has on the skin, but ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Vitamin E and Hemp seed all help look after your skin and repair damage done, as well is promoting the good effects.

So by not using a cream you are both not maximising your session and not looking after your skin as much as you should, lets be honest most people wouldn’t sit on the beach on a hot day with no sun tan lotion, many would also moisturise in the evening, so why don’t people see the need to use a cream and moisturizer when using a sun bed?

There are of course many cream options, and whats best for each person will vary, you should consult with your local tanning salon for advice. It should also be noted that in a recent survey many of the cheaper "own brand" type creams performed substantially lower than the SPF factor they displayed, always ensure you are using a brand you trust.
